I found Happy House Movers using Yelp’s “project” feature. They were very responsive and the most affordable out of the 5 quotes I received. They were also very flexible when I last minute needed to reschedule the move from Sunday to Monday when my moving pod didn’t fit into the permitted spot.
Eugene and Chen were both very helpful and professional. They unloaded my 16 ft pod in Oakland, loaded the contents securely into their truck, and moved it into my new apartment in SF. Even with a 15 min delay at PODS and stairs up to the third floor at my new place, the entire job end to end was done efficiently in 3 hours.

Happy house movers is a COMPLETE SCAM. I cannot emphasize enough how unhappy I am with this service. I have used many independent movers in my 20 years of living in apartments. Hire a real company to do your move. 2 guys took 6 hours at $115 per hour to move my 1 bedroom apartment and then argued with me about their tip afterwards. It ended up costing 3x the amount at $915 instead of my anticipated 3-4 hour move.
They did not understand any of my directions which made it very difficult to give advice or direction. They didn’t pay attention to all the things that said “do not stack” or “fragile”. Because these things were definitely stacked and TVs/picture boxes were transported roughly and on their side.
I know the company will argue with my review saying it was hot/ elevators were far/I had more stuff than they thought. But just to let readers know I live 2 doors from the elevator at my past place and 2 doors from the elevator in my new place and the walk from the apt to the truck was in the shade and took 1 min at my old place, 5 minutes at my new place. I got rid of most of my items during this move and other companies I have had in the past with more stuff took a total of 2 hours to pack the truck at the most. I also offered them sealed individual bottled water which they did not take.

This out 3 rd time using Happy movers. Tony is super responsive and very professional. They always arrive on time. And work fast. And try to get things done quick rather than just wasting time to ramp up the hours. I used desi movers in the past. They are horrible. They waste so much time. Happy movers employees are super friendly and nice. Thank you Tony.
