Master Moving is a complete scam. Lupe, Beni, Jeff, Allison are the individuals that I had direct contact with and they are all sincerely con-artists. I NEVER write a bad review; in fact, this is my first, but I want to save people from falling for their impeccable approach that feels genuine but is absolutely ridden with lies. It's as if they went to the Sandler Training for how to rip people off.

They will tell you that the reviews you read are a small number compared to the many moves they have made with happy customers. They blame the past customers for upping the inventory without adding it to the estimate, which is why they are charged additional amounts at the time of service. I was VERY careful about our inventory, and Jeff assured me that as long as my inventory was good outside of a few boxes, then there would not be anything to be concerned about. This turned out to be FALSE.

The day of the move, the movers came (24 hours early by the way, thank goodness we were able to be ready for our halfway across-country move). They were pleasant and efficient in getting the items wrapped and out of the house. They assembled everything behind the truck, assessed what was there then began loading. Halfway through loading the lead guy came in and told us that we had reached our allotted square footage on the truck and to add the rest it would cost an additional $2500. I was shocked because I knew how much time I spent making sure there would be no surprises. We went back and forth and I finally asked him to remove our couch and ottoman because of its condition I would instead use that $2500 to buy a new sofa than move it halfway across the country. He then told me it would cost $1000 for his guys to take it off the truck AND it wouldn't actually decrease our additional amount to be paid. If I am going to be told that I can't bring half of my items unless I pay more, shouldn't I be able to pick which items are going? Shouldn't they have been able to assess at staging, before loading, if they thought we would be over? I am 100% positive our items fit within the cubic square feet we estimated. They are professional scammers. The day of the move, I was hung up on by Beni and Lupe in dispatch multiple times - and they refused to let me talk to Jeff, who was my initial contact. Long story shortened - we ended up paying $1750 more to get our items transported. Please trust me and don't use this company. The reviews you read on Better Business Bureau and within this Google page review are real and accurate. It is as bad as you can imagine. I am still shocked at the precision of their scam. Once you realize you have been scammed, they have you in a catch-22. They are horrible at service and moving but excellent at scamming.

BAIT & SWITCH
Before I go into the bad, I will say the actual movers did a great job loading and repackaging a few items.
***I received quote from Nicole O for move from Nevada to Arizona (I also got 3 other quotes from various companies). Quote was $6053 so I called and explained that my last move required a full 26' moving truck and that I needed the full truck. I had already packed everything and moved it into storage so all they had to do was repack a few things and move it. After at least 5 phone calls and a dozen emails to assure that I get the full truck, Nicole said yes everytime. I even went as far to confirm that I will fill the whole truck and will not be charged anything beyond, Nicole said for sure. Every email and on quote said full truck but in parenthesis said (1700 cf).
Once truck was loaded the foreman came and said the additional feet is +5000. I called Nicole and she immediately said 'let me transfer you to dispatch, your not in the right department'.
Dispatch said he is looking at quote and it says 1700 cf, I said look at the email that says FULL TRUCK! He says yeah but look at the '1700 cf in parenthesis.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
THEY WERE HIGHER THAN ANY OTHER QUOTE I RECEIVED AT THE END.

Quite possibly one of the most expensive mistakes of my life. This company may be listed as a moving company that can handle cross country moves, however there are a few things you should know. 1) there will be many individuals, most of whom are nothing better than day laborers, that will be handling you funature multiple times to pass you valuable items off to someone else. 2) They are in the business of get your money. Not customer service. Not to handle antiques with care. Not to quote a move in a realistic manner. They are however incredibly difficult to get ahold of on delivery day. They are professional when it comes to incompetence in meeting, understanding and much less caring about integrity. 3) You will will have to pay in various forms of payment. Check, card and U.S.Postal checks are some examples. These are non negotiable upon delivery.
From experience I can attest that I was quoted under the statement made to my wife and myself 'a cube is a cube, that cant change'. 4)Anything that is not packed to anyone of the various individuals loading the trucks will be 'tossed' into a large wardrobe box that will not be filled to charge you more 'cube' nor will the practice discretion when tossing a 30lb grinder on top of an antique clock.
In closing I was quoted approximately 10k. I ended up paying 18k without any mean to dispute as my belonging were held captive. Please be careful with whom you chose to handle your move. Best wishes.

Master moving is the most disorganized and unprofessional moving company I’ve ever dealt with. I started the process of scheduling my July move in May. I received a quote of 1,594.36 and paid my initial deposit of $429.00 when the movers showed up to my house they then charged me and extra $1,000! And said that the move was not calculated correctly and that it was going over the 220sq ft allotment for my stuff. They then took my items back to a warehouse in CA before it was shipped to my final destination on the east coast and no one ever bothered to explain this process or mention that it would be over two weeks before I received my items. Not to mention that every time I called their dispatch department was extremely rude especially Brenda. Oh and don’t forget they will claim that that they do all of the move themselves, they do not they used a third party as to complete the move. Use AirTags bc that’s the only way you’ll even know where your stuff is. They also lost almost all of my clothes in the move and just told me to file a claim that was my only option, and they damaged multiple pieces of furniture and did not care. Not to mention that when their third part arrived they refused to leave a receipt and made an absolute mess of my house, used the bathroom and left mud everywhere in a new house and told me that I was overreacting because I had four boxes missing.
This company needs to be shut down. You cannot charge people for this type of service. I’m out over a thousand dollars more than I was quoted in addition to all of my lost clothes and damaged items I have to now replace. For anyone looking to move pay the extra money to go with a reputable company not these unprofessional thieves and liars.

Maybe I should have checked out the reviews before I used them. Lots of broken items. They were not very careful with anything. They rolled boxes down the stairs. Booking seemed to be organized but when I tried to get my final quote I contacted them and sent photos at least 5 different ways and they said they never got them then ending up charging me more than double what I expected. It was on time with delivery
