I am sharing this review because there are positive reviews for Muscle Movers, but our experience was very different. I would encourage anyone considering them to get very specific written details about the number of movers, estimated time, what happens if staffing changes, what happens if the move is not completed, and how additional charges and damage claims will be handled before booking.
I hired Muscle Movers for a local move of our 1,400-square-foot, 3-bedroom home. We were quoted $239/hour for three movers, with the move expected to take approximately four hours. We paid a $289 deposit.
On moving day, only two movers arrived because the third had a medical emergency. We were not given a meaningful opportunity to reschedule. Although the hourly rate was reduced to $179, loading alone took approximately five hours, and the move ultimately took about eight hours and was not completed. We had to move some of our belongings ourselves, and several items were left behind.
We also had property damaged during the move, including our refrigerator, flooring, dresser, lamp, buffet, and couch cushions.
The individual movers worked hard under difficult circumstances. My FIVE biggest concerns were: The original estimate, the communication about the staffing change, the unexpected final charges, the incomplete move, and the way the billing dispute and damage concerns were handled by management afterward.Read more
