My experience with East Coast Shipping (ECS) handling my move from Florida to Germany was deeply disappointing.
I spent an outrageous amount of money on this move, specifically arranging for my valuable professional Pilates and GYROTONIC® equipment to be professionally crated. Yet the crates were not even present when the crew arrived for pickup. In my experience, the crew handled the entire move completely unprofessionally.
Mirrors were mishandled, reformers were transported upright, and multiple items arrived damaged. For the amount I paid and the specialized equipment involved, I expected far greater care and preparation.
Getting clear documentation and answers was also frustrating. I had to chase shipping paperwork and photographs. Resolving the damage claim is now requiring extensive follow-up, additional documentation, and efforts to obtain repair estimates and replacement parts. Some parts must be sourced from the United States, adding further complications.
To make
matters worse, I am now dealing with a German insurance adjuster whose correspondence I find condescending and patronizing. Reasonable questions have been met with what feels like mansplaining rather than helpful clarification. I am also being asked for photographs that have already been submitted.
This equipment is essential to my livelihood. The damage and subsequent claims process have added stress, expense, and disruption to an already demanding international move.
Based on my experience, I would not use ECS again or recommend them for an international move involving valuable professional equipment.Read more
