What is your insurance policy? How do you deal with damaged items?

We offer optional marine insurance, including Total Loss and All-Risk coverage, depending on how your items are packed. If damage or loss occurs, we assist with claims and guide you through the process. All issues should be noted at delivery and documented with photos. We work closely with the insurer to ensure claims are handled fairly and promptly.

What is the best advice you would give to customers?

Start planning early and stay organized. International moves involve paperwork, customs regulations, and scheduling—so the more time you give yourself, the smoother things go. My sister and I chose Easy Coast shipping to ship half-container moves from Dedham, MA to France and to Switzerland as we emptied our ageing mother’s home. We chose them based on the positive interactions we had regarding the quote. It took 3 months to receive our shipments, as we were not in a hurry. [Name removed by Sirelo] proved very responsive and helpful, we were kept informed at every stage of the move and the international agents were also extremely competent. Overall, despite one piece of furniture that was broken during the transport, it was a positive experience and I would highly recommend them.

I’ll admit I was initially hesitant due to one older negative review , but after my experience, I can confidently say that East Coast Shipping exceeded all expectations. I used East Coast Shipping for a move from South Florida to Montreal Canada. Being an international move, I was somewhat nervous about selecting the perfect moving company. I started the process by requesting quotes from many different moving companies. East Coast shipping was not the cheapest nor the most expensive but very quick to respond to my questions. Even when questioning East Coast Shipping for the actual customs process in Canada, I verified on my own with Canadian Customs and what EC Shipping had stated was exactly the same as the actual Customs’ officer stated and exactly what happened with my shipment. The company was able to pick up my items (56 boxes) on the day I wanted and almost on time (crew was delayed an hour but I was notified of the delay). I was told about 2 weeks for the shipping process and at 10 days I was notified that the shipment would arrive within a day or 2 at Customs for me to physically go and clear. All paperwork was send in perfect order, clearing took less than an hour and the movers could have delivered same day (I opted for a few days later as I needed to coordinate with HOA). No hidden fees, no delays, no issues. I had one mug and one glass broken within the 56 boxes which is expected with an international move. I had a great experience with the company.Read more

ECS gave us a good quote, and were very helpful in agreeing terms. The movers that they booked (for the US end) were extremely good. The arrival in the UK won't be for another 6 weeks, so I can't at this stage comment on how that goes. The only downside is that they mistakenly booked us out of the wrong port, and then charged us an additional nearly $1000 because the boat was late.

This was a good experience for us moving from Florida to Canada. We had excellent communication with [Name removed by Sirelo] setting up the move dates. The date had to be moved up with a one hour arrival date for the truck. We were not ready but the men on the truck helped us finish packing and preparing the list of goods on the truck. When the truck arrived in Canada, we met at Canada Customs and cleared for delivery. The truck contents were delivered and placed wherever we requested. While a stressful time for a very senior couple, we couldn’t have asked for more. Very satisfied.
