Very disappointing experience with Shipping Solutions Worldwide
I hired Shipping Solutions Worldwide in Gaithersburg, Maryland to handle our international relocation. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing.
One of the most serious problems was that the company did not provide us with the Bill of Lading in a timely manner. When our shipment arrived at its destination, we were faced with more than $3,000 in additional charges and penalties in order to obtain the release of our belongings.
We contacted Shipping Solutions Worldwide and explained that we believed these costs resulted from their failure to provide the required documentation on time. After discussing the situation with them, the company agreed to cover only 50% of the additional charges.
We were therefore forced to pay the remaining 50% ourselves because otherwise we could not obtain our shipment and personal belongings.
For an international moving company, I find this extremely concerning. We paid for a professional international relocation service and expected the company to properly manage the necessary documentation and logistics.
I am leaving this review so that other customers, particularly members of the diplomatic and international community, are aware of our experience before choosing this company.
I have documentation supporting everything described in this review, including the moving documents, communications with the company, the additional charges and proof of payment.
Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend doing thorough research and comparing other international moving companies before making a decision.

They promptly answered all our questions via email and phone. They met with us quickly and provided us with on on-site inspection to see if we needed a 20 foot or 40 foot shipping container. They had good customer service and they are priced competitively.
