We had a wonderful experience with Mobility Unbound.

We found them online, and when I first called, I spoke with [Name removed by Sirelo]. He was extremely helpful, answered all of my questions, and explained the entire moving process clearly. His professionalism gave me confidence, and after speaking with him, I felt comfortable moving forward with Mobility Unbound.

[Name removed by Sirelo] then introduced us to [Name removed by Sirelo], who specializes in coordinating the moving process. She was equally wonderful. She guided us through every step, answered all of our questions, and made sure we had all the information we needed before booking our move. We shipped a full container overseas, and we were very pleased with how everything was organized.

[Name removed by Sirelo] gave us the option of either having their team pack everything or packing everything ourselves. We chose to do the packing ourselves. It was incredibly exhausting and stressful, but it saved us several thousand dollars.

One important thing to know is that if you pack your own belongings, the moving company cannot insure the individual contents of the shipment. The only insurance available was for the cargo as a whole (for example, in the unlikely event of a ship sinking). Although [Name removed by Sirelo] strongly recommended purchasing insurance, we decided to save the additional cost and take the risk.

Fortunately, everything arrived safely. About 99.99% of our belongings arrived intact, with only one or two broken dishes and glasses. We packed everything very carefully and professionally, even using five antique wooden trunks to protect our most fragile items, and they worked perfectly.

Another promise [Name removed by Sirelo] made—and one that was fully honored—was that the Brazilian moving company would carry everything up the 50 stairs leading to our home in the hills of Petrópolis and unpack the major items. They did exactly as promised.

[Name removed by Sirelo] was also instrumental in helping us arrange the correct truck sizes for the final delivery. Because the larger truck could not reach our home, a smaller pickup truck had to shuttle our belongings from the main truck. It took approximately 40 trips to move everything up the hill, and all of that logistics was handled successfully.

The only serious issue we experienced—and the reason I am giving detailed feedback—is related to the local company hired to complete the final delivery in Brazil.

The ten movers who came to our home were absolutely wonderful. They worked incredibly hard, were respectful, and took great care with our belongings. Our criticism is not directed at them, but at the company that employed them.

We had originally been told that the delivery would take two days. However, when the crew arrived, they informed us they had been instructed to complete everything in a single day. Because of that decision, they started work at 7:00 a.m. and did not leave our home until around 2:00 a.m.—a 19-hour workday—with less than an hour for lunch, during which they ate food they had brought themselves.

To make matters worse, they had not even been provided with basic protective equipment such as work gloves. They handled heavy furniture and boxes with their bare hands all day. We also learned that they did not receive overtime pay. Several of them told us they would not get home until around 4:00 a.m. after leaving our house.

Watching this happen was honestly heartbreaking. We were exhausted ourselves after staying with them throughout the entire process, but we felt especially bad for these hardworking men, who deserved much better treatment.

We understand that international moving companies typically subcontract local delivery companies, and this may unfortunately be common practice. However, we believe Mobility Unbound should exercise greater oversight when selecting its local partners to ensure that workers are treated safely, fairly, and humanely. Companies representing their brand should provide basic safety equipment, reasonable working hours, and proper labor conditions.

Despite this very serious concern, our overall experience with Mobility Unbound was excellent. They were honest, transparent, and delivered exactly what they promised. There were no hidden fees—something we were concerned about after speaking with several competitors before choosing them.

We spent a great deal of time researching international moving companies, and Mobility Unbound consistently stood out for their professionalism, honesty, responsiveness, and willingness to explain every detail of the process. As first-time customers, we felt completely lost at the beginning, but [Names removed by Sirelo] guided us from start to finish and made the experience much less stressful.

We would absolutely use Mobility Unbound again, and we highly recommend them to anyone planning an international move. We simply hope they will review the labor practices of the local companies they hire so that the hardworking people who represent them on the ground are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

We hope this review helps others who are trying to decide which international moving company to choose.

Could be better if include silica with the clothes so we would have less odor in them.

I find moving countries very stressful, and this time wasn't any different. However, I was satisfied with Mobility Unbound to the extent that all my belongings were packed well and arrived without damage. The office clerks were very patient and always answered my questions very politely. However, I remain disappointed as I had thought I had paid for everything in the US and there was one more fee at Santos Port. I am blaming the Brazilian Port Customs, not Mobility Unbound!
