About
Reputable Moving was founded by Eli Chakov in 2010 because he had a belief of what he wanted to see in the moving industry. Eli had been working in the industry for many years, and he always knew in his mind and his heart the vision and ideals that he wanted for “his” company one day.

Pros:
-Office staff (I've specifically communicated with Frank and Natalie) have been prompt, communicative, and patient with all of my questions both over the phone and via email.
-My uncle had no negatives to report on day of pick up.
-The delivery guy from Reputable on day of delivery to Virginia was also communicative, professional, and experienced. There was a second delivery guy who was NOT experienced or careful with my stuff which I have more details on in the 'cons' section.
-Most fragile items (lamps, pictures) arrived intact without any damage or issue.
Cons:
-Cash only on day of delivery
-Damages and difficulty in having Reputable accept responsibility for and make amends for them. One of the movers on the day of delivery (I don't think he worked directly for Reputable but he was contracted by Reputable locally specifically for my move) did NOT treat my furniture with respect. He was rough with my things and made me uncomfortable. While unwrapping a table I watched him gouge the top of the table with a knife while cutting away tape. This same table also has damage to the ornamental top which was not there prior to the move. I fully admit there are scratches to the legs of the table but the damages to the top occurred during delivery (one of which I specifically witnessed). There was also damage to a large cabinet where the top side molding was broken off. This cabinet is very old so I have no doubt the molding may have been loose but it was definitely not broken off prior to pick up. I confirmed with my aunt and uncle that on the day of pick up neither the table nor cabinet had the damages described. In communications with Reputable so far they have told me the table was scratched prior to pick up (which I am not contesting but the scratches are on the legs; I watched the mover scratch the top) and that the molding was broken prior to pick up.
Also of note, the final cost was $500 more than what was quoted. However I'm not noting this necessarily as a con since I did not have them come into the homes to do an in home estimate and I think paying more than what you're quoted is kind of to be expected with moves--especially long distance moves.
As of today (10/27/2020) I'm still going back and forth with Reputable about the damages noted above and they keep saying the pieces were already damaged. So my overall recommendation is that if you have stuff you DON'T really care about, they're a good company to use. However if you have stuff of value go with a different company.Read more
My furniture is very big and I have a few sentimental pieces, but, Reputable moving Put me at ease and did an outstanding job for my local move from Brooklyn NY to Manhattan New York.
They are very courteous and professional and work amazing as a team.
Thank you for making the nasty business of moving completely stress free and easy.
